1, raw material size
Because the grinding fineness of raw materials determines the surface area of granular feed, the finer the particle size, the larger the surface area, the faster the material absorbs the water in the steam, and the quenching and tempering and particle forming are relatively easy; Too coarse particle size, increase die wear, increase energy consumption, productivity decline.
The requirements of feed machinery manufacturers are that the particle size of raw materials after crushing all passes through the 8 mesh screen surface, but the material on the 25 mesh screen shall not be greater than 35%. The material with high crude fiber content needs to add a certain amount of grease in the pelleting process, reduce the friction between the material and the ring mold, and the appearance of the feed particles after forming is smooth.

2, raw material impurities cleaning
If the material contains too much iron impurities, resulting in accelerated die wear, this should attract the attention of the pelletizer operator, so, the cleaning work before raw material processing is very important.
3. Add steam
Steam is added in the granulation process of materials, which is conducive to softening of materials and playing a lubricating role, thus reducing the wear of materials on the machine and improving output. The general pressure level varies with the variety of pressed materials. After adding steam, the moisture content of the material should reach 16% ~ 17%, and the temperature control of the material after quenching and tempering is better at 78 ~ 87℃.
4, the gap between the ring die and the press roller
Improper installation Angle of feeder will lead to uneven distribution of materials between ring die and press roll, which will lead to uneven distribution of wear between ring die and press roll over time. If the clearance is too small, it will aggravate the wear on the surface of the ring die and the press roll, especially during the empty operation when the equipment starts and stops. The wear effect is more intense. The clearance between the ring die and the press roll is better with 0.2 ~ 0.4mm.
